Mountain Biking Dunoon

Together with Greg Minnaar, four-time World Champion Mountain Biker and Action Argyll Ambassador, we will be building an extensive trail network suitable for every level of rider.

Tracks and Trails

Action Argyll has a network of 13.5km of single track trails for intermediate and advanced riders. We have a team of trail builders maintaining and building new trails all the time. So, no matter what the weather you will experience incredible trail conditions, with something new to try each time you visit.

We have graded our current trails as Black, so you know the level of difficulty and what kind of terrain to expect from each trail. A GoPro POV run of each of our trails is available to get you psyched for your next visit. Enjoy.

Foxes

The trail that can’t be tamed. The Foxes is our steepest, most wild ride. You’ll need to trust your instinct on this one, as it puts your agility, reactions, and speed to the test, requiring you to lean into your instinct, agility. Starting on the clear fell with plenty of roots and rocks to keep you occupied, you quickly cross into the steep part of the trail. Enjoy the sharp, sweeping corners before testing your nerve on the exposed chute and finishing on flowing corners back out to the access road.

The Badd

Taking its name from the section of hill beside the Balgaidh burn, The Badd starts with a small gap jump (airtime mandatory) before heading down through the young plantation. Ride through mixed terrain and then onto a fast-flowing track that leads into a steep drop into the woods with some tight, tricky turns to the finish.

Length: 0.4 miles (640m)

Grade: Black

Rock N Roll

Rocky terrain and rolling hills, this trail is music to your wheels. It starts out with a *fairly* straight section to get you to the first rock slab, before picking its way down through an outcrop of mica schist rock. One for the thrill seekers.

Fiddlers Paradise

Roots, rocks, and ruts a plenty on this high-speed run through the young tree plantation. A Dunoon classic and a favourite in the Scottish enduro series. (Link into the lower half of the burnside to create a longer run.)

Length: 0.21 miles (340m)

Grade: Black

Burnside

A fast-paced trail with a burn on your left. Packed full of treats, including bermed corners and off camber roots.

Length: 0.57 miles (912m)

Grade: Black

Tight As You Like

Another Dunoon classic and used many times in the Scottish enduro series. Tight, twisty, and running through mixed terrain and dense trees, this well dug in track is one to make your own.

Length: 0.35 miles (560m)

Grade: Black

T3-2-1

Starting on a flat section to warm you up before entering a dense forest, this in-trail builds momentum with supportive corners before straightening out a touch and heading to a small gap jump with b-line. It ends with a swooping line and the odd rolling jump. Have fun.

Length: 0.75 miles (1200m)
